Royal Purple Fabulosity

Hi peeps!

Today, I had one of the best Manicure Mournday sessions with a girlfriend. Most of the pictures were kindly taken by her.

On my feet: Orly Out Of This World (close-up here)

On my fingers: Gelish The Perfect Silhouette with Ali Baba Sim Sala Bam on top

Because The Perfect Silhouette appeared a little too dark for my liking, my manicurist added a layer of Ali Baba Sim Sala Bam on top and perfecto! It brought out the tiny specks of glitter and matched Out Of This World on my feet. Nail bliss, achieved.

These are the nail colours for my funeral day…

Crazy Over Studs

Happy Friday!

Many things can trigger the release of endorphins. I reckon Friday itself, is a factor.

I’m studded. OOTD: Oasis embellished stud dress, Zara pointed studs pumps, Zara black jacket, accessories by Wanderlustandco and YSL, Prada black bow bag (not shown).

What’s in store for your weekend? I’m anticipating our yacht escapade tomorrow. Can’t wait to relax and unwind with the fammie. Have a fabulous weekend ahead peeps!

Red + Blue = Purple ♡

Hi peeps! I’ve gone back to black dark colours after a hiatus and it feels good.

On the fingers: Blood red shade with purple glitter on the ring fingers. When in doubt, go classic. Go red. For a little glam factor, add glitter to selected nails.

On the toes: Ink blue shade with glitter on top for all toes. Loving the cosmic effect achieved. It’s like I’ve got the solar system on my toes.

Hope your Mournday has been kind to you. I feel better as always, after nails pampering and ready to face Tuesday. Well, maybe only in 12 hours time 🙂

In A Sunshine State Of Mind…

Hey there peeps!

I am wearing waves of sunshine today with this bandage layered dress. The material is of a comfy snuggle fit and the gradient shades tone down the yellow brightness softly. I reckon if you’re not a fan of bright colours but would like to try for a change, gradient shades are ideal to test your acceptance level before you dive right in to the deep bright end 🙂

There are 104 more days left before we welcome 2013. Oh my, where has the year gone? We are approaching the last quarter of 2012 and soon it will be December party season again. Have you started looking for that special dress or two or even three? Stay tuned as I reveal what I’ve grabbed for a few upcoming occasions.

Stardust Glitter-ama

Hope your Mournday has been kind to you, peeps.

Since I will be fluttering off to another island in four days time for a fabulous weekend with a girlfriend who lives there, I thought glitter was apt for the occasion. Am loving the odd-nail-out trend that originated from Korea apparently. It solves the dilemma when you can’t choose between two shortlisted colours.

I decided to do stardust silver and go odd on my index finger with midnight purple. For my right hand, I went odd on the ring finger instead as I put my e-ring and wedding band on it. Yeah, I wear these significant rings on the right not left just because…

Mourndays end well when the nails are pampered… 🙂

The Flawless Face Look.

Hola peeps!

If you remember, the kind folks of Laura Mercier Singapore sent me a mini happie last week.

What was inside the bag?
A Flawless Face Kit valued at SGD240 which contains 8 items/tools.

– Foundation Primer (Step 1)
– Tinted Moisturizer (Step 2)
– Undercover Pot (Step 3 and 4)
– Secret Camouflage Brush
– Camouflage Powder Brush
– Velour Puff
– Egg-shaped Sponge
– Travel case

“Laura believes there are four steps to create a flawless face, and that look begins with a fresh canvas.”

I brought the kit back home with me to the peninsular and used it throughout the weekend i.e. the wedding dinner I attended and out and abouts with the fammie.

Verdict Points:

  • A complete all-you-need kit to create the ‘no-makeup’ makeup look. Four products. Four simple steps. Hassle-free application.
  • Ideal for those who prefer light to medium coverage, it is dermatology tested which is great for those with sensitive skin like myself. No allergic reaction was experienced.
  • I have not used the Undercover Pot yet but it consists of two types of concealers i.e. Secret Camouflage for darkened areas (blemishes, shadows, scars) and Secret Concealer to brighten and minimise dark shadows around the eye area. I seldom use concealers but these two ‘secrets’ will be useful during that time of the month and on ‘bad eyes’ days. Apparently, it blends nicely and is neither cakey nor patchy.
  • The Foundation Primer sets the canvas for the Tinted Moisturiser, evens out skin tone and helps makeup stay on longer especially in a hot climate. Like a pick-me-up for the face, this primer left my skin feeling refreshed and prepared to be ‘tinted’.
  • The translucent loose setting powder which sits at the bottom of the Undercover Pot is the perfect final touch with a satin-silky finish. I applied it using the Camouflage Powder brush (instead of the Velour puff) which is great as a dust-off brush for excess makeup as well.
  • I used my fingers to apply the primer and tinted moisturiser like I always do with BB creams and saved the puff and sponge for makeup fixes and/or to even out blending for the eyes.
  • I will alternate this kit with my BB creams depending on my coverage preference. To determine which Laura Mercier products might be suitable for your skin type and needs, check out the Flawless Face Finder here.
  • Although the pricing is a little steep, it’s justifiable as items come in a decent size and will last for a while. Plus, the quality of the brushes are good enough for long-term usage.
  • Rating: 4/5 minihappies

Here’s a non-filtered picture. The flawless face look. Done! See for yourself 🙂
